This past Spring Semester I directed a program that created workshops for Syracuse City High School
students. At the workshops Ron Derutte and I instructed the students to carve into sand molds, and showed
them how to prepare the molds for casting aluminum metal into them. Ron and I poured Aluminum
into the all the molds, and latter broke the molds open for the students to get there sculptures. We later
had a short slide presentation on Ron and my artwork, we wanted to expose some of the different
materials an artist can use. Workshops like this could have never happened with out the support of the Syracuse
University Sculpture Departments and the Partnership For Better Education's support.
I hope in the Spring of 2008 to have another round of workshops.
